Meet Urooj
With her passion of helping others in their healing journey, Urooj shares her own story of travelling through various different paths until she found “The Ultimate Remedy”. The healing, the shifa, the transformation, the blessing she found in her life after battling silently over 10 years with unexplained infertility. It was nothing but with the help of “Surah Rehman Therapy” that soothed the journey for her. Surah rehman is 55th chapter of the holy Quran and its healing powers are beyond imagination. The word ‘rehman’ means “the most merciful”, the one whose mercy is infinite and is for everyone and upon everything. Urooj also refers this as “Sound Therapy” for those who are not familiar with this chapter of the Holy Quran. She believes that this message is a gift for the mankind and is not only specific to a certain group or religion.
During her entire journey of this therapy, Urooj learned many lessons and she shares a few here:
Have complete surrender to God.
Seek forgiveness and repentance on our own sins,
Release past hurts through forgiveness of others, maintaining patience, humility, and a strong faith throughout the process.
Let go of your Ego, make yourself literally zero infornt of your Lord.
Bring yourself out of victim mindset, which means stop complaining and feeding negativity to your subconscious,
She learnt that forgiveness and prayer for those who hurt you or ever made you sad elevates your soul.
Complete focus on your own self which means promise yourself to leave your one bad habit, be it getting angry or judging others or lying or getting rid of animosity in your hearts for others.
Count on your blessings which are limitless,
These principles, she believes, are crucial for overcoming obstacles and experiencing transformative moments of realization.
Urooj takes her platform as an opportunity and invite all those who are currently going through any sort of physical, mental and spiritual ailments. She outlines a specific method for practicing Surah Rehman Therapy, involving listening to the chapter in a serene environment, engaging in forgiveness exercises, and invoking a deep connection with the divine or one's inner self, regardless of religious belief.
Here is how to practice it:
Sit or lie down in a comfortable position, keep 1/2 glass of water with you.
Download the audio version of Surah Ar-Rehman in Qari Abdul Basit’s voice (without translation). Click here to download. Play the audio and listen to it with deep concentration while eyes are closed.
While listening to this, do a short prayer/exercise to forgive everything and everyone. Empty your mind and sit with a clean heart of all hatred, animosity, envy, worries, arrogance, revenge, and pray for the well being of your worst of the worst enemies and forgive them from the bottom of your heart (specially your blood relatives) for the sake of Allah(God) only. Then take another step and recall all your own sins that are yet hidden from all, but known only to you and your Allah(God).
4. At the end of the audio when your body has already absorbed the vibration of surah rehman, open your eyes for a brief moment. Then close your eyes again, and with utmost love call upon "Allah" “Allah” “Allah” silently in your heart 3 times and drink the glass of water in 3 sips to feel the presence of Allah (or whoever you consider your God as: Jesus, Shiv, Lord, Ti, Chi, Higher power, Universe etc. If you do not believe in any God, connect with yourself within).
5. Repeat this 2-3 times a day for 7 consecutive days.
6. After 7 days, only repeat step 4 everyday as many times as you can.
Urooj's narrative is not just a testament to her faith but an invitation to anyone in search of healing, emphasizing that the essence of this practice is love, forgiveness, and a profound connection with the divine or one's deeper self.
Urooj had the honour to conduct a workshop with the teachers of Alhaadi School in Toronto in November 2023.
During this session, she presented various strategies and tips for managing anxiety in children, as part of a broader focus on children emotional management.
